To observe
biological distribution patterns, a continuum of the shore surface,
extending from low tide to high tide, is chosen for study.
Barwon Heads
Line Transect
This
continuum will be sampled through the use of a transect that
cuts across the area of greatest change, from high to low
on the shoreline and sampled using quadrats of a standard
size.
For the
purposes of this study, points ("stations") at 5m
intervals along the transect are sampled at the Barwon Heads
rock platform.
